CIF EXPRESS USA - Clear Delivery Guidelines & Timelines

Effective Date: May 1, 2025

Shipping Process

Once a package has been received, processed, and uploaded to the CIF Express USA Customer Online Portal, and the customer has:

Step 1: Account Access

Logged into their account

Step 2: Service Selection

Selected the type of shipping service (Standard or Economy)

Step 3: Documentation

Uploaded a correct and valid supplier invoice for the package

Step 4: Payment

Paid all applicable shipping and associated fees

Step 5: Shipment Action

Actioned the package to be shipped

CIF Express USA will ship the package on the next available flight to the destination agent for customs clearance and further processing.

Packages will then be made available for customer collection or delivery, if such service is requested.

Delivery Timelines

Estimated delivery timelines after the customer has actioned the package to ship are as follows:

⚡ Standard Service

Package will be available for collection or delivery within 10 business days

💰 Economy Service

Package will be available for collection or delivery within 20 business days

These timelines are estimates and do not include delays caused by customs clearance, documentation issues, or events beyond our control.

Limitations of Liability

CIF Express USA and our destination agents are not liable for delays in package delivery due to:

  • Delays in customs clearance
  • Failure of the customer to submit correct, valid invoices via the CIF Express USA Online Customer Portal
  • Delays in submission of additional documents requested by customs
  • Overbookings by carriers
  • Acts of God or natural disasters

Important Contact Information Requirement:

Customers must ensure that their contact information (email and phone number) in the online portal is valid and up to date.

CIF Express USA is not liable for delivery delays if the destination agent cannot contact the customer for additional customs information or to notify them of package availability.

Customer Responsibilities:

  • Maintain updated contact information
  • Submit correct and complete documentation
  • Respond promptly to customs requests
  • Monitor email and phone for updates

Uncollected Packages and Storage Fees

Packages not collected from the destination agent's office within 10 calendar days after notification of availability will incur a storage fee.

💰 Storage Fee

USD $5.00 per package per day

Starting from day 11 after notification

Package Abandonment Policy:

If a package remains uncollected for 30 calendar days following the initial notification, the package will be considered abandoned and will become the property of CIF Express USA.

CIF Express USA reserves the right to dispose of such packages at its discretion without further notification to the customer.

Timeline Summary:

  • Days 1-10: Free storage period
  • Days 11-30: $5.00 USD per day storage fee
  • Day 31+: Package becomes CIF Express USA property

Avoid Storage Fees:

  • Collect packages promptly upon notification
  • Keep contact information updated
  • Monitor email and phone regularly
  • Arrange collection within 10 days

Authorized Collection and Delivery of Packages

Packages will only be delivered to the customer whose name appears on the package.

To receive the package, the customer must present a valid government-issued photo ID to verify their identity.

Third Party Authorization Process:

If a customer wishes to authorize a third party to collect or receive a package on their behalf, the following steps must be followed:

1. Authorization via Email

The customer must reply to the package collection email stating the full name of the person they are authorizing to collect the package OR send a new email of authorization specifying:

  • The full name of the authorized third party
  • The relevant WR number(s) of the package(s) for which authorization is granted

2. Verification Requirements

The authorized third party must present a valid government-issued photo ID at the time of collection to confirm their identity as the person named in the authorization.

3. Per-Instance Authorization

Authorization must be provided for each occasion a third party is sent to collect a package. Blanket or open-ended authorizations will not be accepted. A new email must be sent for each instance of third-party collection.

Failure to follow the above steps may result in denial of package release.

This policy is in place to protect the security and integrity of our delivery process.

  • Email authorization from customer (for third-party collection)
  • Valid government-issued photo ID for authorized third party
